Nobody's posted here in a few years, but there are still some watchers, and this could be turned into an active community.

I don't live in Seattle anymore.

Anyone want it?

anna's art on display
Late notice because I didn't look at the e-mail clearly enough earlier. My friend Anna's art is being displayed until August 12 at the HUB Art Gallery. This is located between rooms 108 and 106B on the first floor of the Husky Union Building (HUB) at the University of Washington. You can call the HUB at 206-543-1447 if you have questions about hours when the HUB building is open.

This is cool sort of abstract stuff. Very very good use of color, sort of sucks you in.

From an article in University Week, "UW Chamber Singers to perform Bach masterpiece":

Hear Bach at his best: The UW Chamber Singers, accompanied by members of the University Symphony, will perform Bach’s Mass in B Minor in two locations.

Note: Tickets for the two concerts are $8 for general admission and $5 for students and seniors, but are bought in different ways:

  • 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, at Meany Theater. Tickets at the door or at UW Arts Ticket Office, 206-543-4880.
  • 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 4, in the Suzzallo Library Reading Room. Tickets sold only at the concert, starting at 6:45 p.m. in the library lobby.

I'll be at the Suzzallo Reading Room performance, as I don't think there are better acoustics on the UW campus. (I love Meany Theatre and all, but it often seems like they go out of their way to mix everything horribly.)
